Low, One More Reason To Forget (BlueSanct Musak / Konkurrent)

Yet another wonderful surprise from our favorite slow-core country-drone band out of Duluth, Minnesota. Originally released in '98, rereleased in April, it's a recording of a live performance in anywhere better than - a church, somewhere in Louisville, Kentucky. Basically, it's a self-made bootleg. Sounds that way too, the soundboard recording is hazy, somewhat distant. It would suck if it were most other bands, but with Low it just makes sense. The songs (selected from pretty much all their releases, except curiously - 'Secret Name'), together with the not-so-clear recording make this an exceptionally engaging live album. One with a strange, otherworldly beauty seldom encountered.   (by ariën)
